The Four Last Things
With ALL SAINTS and ALL SOULS Day just past I thought it would be good to review...
1. Death is the end of life on earth; no reincarnation.
2. Judgment is the Lords and His Word is final.
3. Heaven is the destination of those saved through a living faith in their Savior who died free of mortal sin (with the life of the Holy Spirit within them).
4. Hell is the destination of those not saved by Christ; who die in a state of mortal sin (without the life-giving Presence of the Holy Spirit within.)
Where is Purgatory on the list of The Last Things?
Purgatory is a temporary state of being purified from venial sins (which do not kill the life of the Holy Spirit within the believer). I Corinthians 3:11-15 speaks of those who will be saved, but only as through fire. John reveals God is holy and to see God one makes himself pure, as He is pure. (1Jn 3:3). Fire purifies.

PS: Another Priest Appreciation Day has come and gone; and I am very thankful I heard the Lords call and deeply thankful, too, for your being thankful!
This is the first time that I took an active part in the selection of your gift to meI have a reversible stole like the one we gave Fr. Thang, and when it was suggested I dropped a little hint. I am grateful for the many wonderful gifts I have received from the people of St. Annas on this special day over the years.
I feel I have matured as a priest while serving here and I am truly grateful to St. Annas because the Holy Spirit worked through you to bless me with this precious gift. My beautiful new chalice is a gift we can share as we gather together to give Him thanks!
