Dizziness is a common complaint in our office. It is a generic term that must be clearly defined and its cause properly characterized and diagnosed for appropriate treatment to be implemented. It is a complaint that is often treatable with our customized treatments at Georgia Clinic of Chiropractic.
The various symptoms that fall under the category of dizziness can affect people in a variety of ways, from being a mild nuisance to being severely disabling. Appropriate intervention can often be tantamount to life saving to the patient. This appropriate intervention must be based on a full evaluation of the locomotor system, including examination of movement patterns; it must often include rehabilitative procedures and propriosensory retraining to completely bring about return to full function.
Regardless of what is causing vertigo, as Vertigo Specialists and advanced Chiropractors in Augusta GA, we can help. This help for most people come in the form of treatments that the specialized chiropractor can do while others can be referred to other health care professionals for help.
In one study of 60 patients afflicted with some degree of vertigo, researchers found that the problem stemmed from a misalignment in the upper cervical spine. Fifty-six of the 60, when asked, recalled a trauma, like an auto accident or a fall in their past. Subsequent tests found that all 60 actually had a misalignment in the spine. After one to six months of appropriate chiropractic treatment, 48 patients were symptom-free and the remaining 12 had reduced frequency or severity of episodes. A case report published in the Journal of the American Chiropractic Association in 2003 describes treatment of a 53-year-old woman whose severe vertigo was eliminated with adjustment to her C2 vertebra.
Dizziness can be extremely troublesome to the individual experiencing it, but it can also be helped for the vast majority of those individuals as well through our customized chiropractic care.
As an advanced chiropractor in Augusta GA that specializes in customized treatments, we also use super pulsed laser therapy in conjunction with your treatment for vertigo, and have had excellent results with our unique treatment protocol.
