The Holy Father's Intention for the month of November is as follows: "That victims of drugs or of other dependence may, thanks to the support of the Christian community, find in the power of our Saving God strength for a radical life-change." The faithful may receive a plenary indulgence by praying for His Holiness' intentions. The requirements for this indulgence can be found here at the Vatican website (under the "General Remarks On Indulgences" heading).
This week Fr. Greg will speak on the importance of the faithful stewardship of God's varied gifts to each of us. Giving the gift of treasure is giving back to the church from the abundance of God's gifts.
As Jesus said, There is more happiness in giving than receiving. God has entrusted us with varied blessings and He calls us to share these gifts as good Stewards.
Gifts of treasure enable our parish to do God's work as Church and to minister to parishioners and the community. We ask for you to prayerfully consider your family commitment to our parish and its many ministries for the coming year.
Every year we are incredibly blessed by God's abundance of gifts in our lives. Sharing our gift of treasure with the church is one way to show gratitude for our blessings. During this next week you will receive a very important letter from our pastor. He will share with you the good things our church is doing and outline our areas of need. We ask you to give thanks for our successes and pray for our parish's areas of need. During the next few weeks, we will be inviting you to participate in sharing your gift of treasure. Please prayerfully consider how you will share this gift.
There will be a yard sale Saturday, November 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the church parking lot (rain date is November 20). Donations are needed please consider donating your yard sale items for us to sell to raise money in support of the mission trip. Items that do not sell will be donated to North Fulton Community Charities.
There will be a workshop held regarding Ministering to the Sick. This will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. untill 8:30 p.m. in Room 202.
Everyone is invited to this meeting! Your ideas are welcomed as we explore how we could better serve those sick and homebound, especially members of the St. Thomas Aquinas community! Fr. Chito will take charge of the meeting. See you all there!
