Donors making a contribution of $50 or more to support the construction of our student homes will be recognized on a commemorative plaque to be located at the World Children's Center.
The World Childrens Center mission is to build programs that foster education, provide housing and shelter, as well as ensure the safety of underserved children. The World Childrens Center believes that every child should have the opportunity to grow in a safe, stable environment, have equal access to education and quality health care, and experience meaningful and productive work throughout his or her life.
When completely built, the World Childrens Center Academy will educate, provide housing and enrichment/character-building programs, as well food and clothing to an estimated 800 children.
The idea for the World Children’s Center comes from Atlanta businessman Donald H. Whitney, President and Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Sports Unlimited (CSU), Corporate Events and Meetings and Founder and President of The United States 10K Classic. For most of his life, Don has had a passion for serving others and has dreamed about a safe haven where needy children can live in peace, free from both hunger and want.
