Fort Sumter Flag
We recently acquired a unique and historical item originating from the beginning of the Civil War. Presented to Peter Hart the flag of Fort Sumter. Piece of the Frt. Sumter flag staff & piece of the Frt. Sumter flag presented by Robert Anderson Br. Gen. USA This autographed page is torn from a gold leaf book with other signatures on three of the four pages. Below are excerpts from The National Park Service website.

Youve seen the ads heard the stories maybe even been invited to a Gold Party. Turn your scrap gold and silver into cold, hard cash! Quick and easy, right? Right, but are you getting the best deal? Probably not. Lets start at the beginning.
Montrose Auction pays top dollar for gold and silver. We know that because our customers have told us! Are you getting the best price for your scrap? Read on to make sure you dont lose out.
The large refiners do not purchase from the general public. They rely on consolidators to buy from you and your friends until they have accumulated enough gold and silver to sell to the refiner. Where youre losing out is in the huge fees the consolidator takes for buying from you and holding that inventory. Heres what were talking about these are true stories!
Michael took his scrap to a Dublin company that advertised paying cash for scrap. They offered him $375 cash on the spot! Montrose Auction paid Michael $1600 for the same scrap. That is an extreme case but our prices are always better. Heres another example.
Amy was quoted $295 by a local company that advertises paying the highest prices for scrap. Montrose Auction paid her $350! See the pattern?
Weve been in business for more than 30 years and value our customer and community relationships. If youre successful, were successful. Thats why we dont charge the outrageous fees these other companies seem to get away with.

In consideration of our Mother Earth and the 'going green' initiative, Montrose Auction plans to continue our own green efforts by reducing our printings and mailings.
Since January 2009, we have ceased mailing more than 1000 postcards each month for our Tuesday Night Auctions. In addition, we have reduced the number of mailings for our First Friday Antique Auctions and focus on mailing notices about our specialty auctions that are outside our regular auction schedule.
Do you charge a firearms transfer fee?
I want to leave absentee bids. Can you ship the items I win? How does that work?
