This training must include components that provide employment opportunities and information, Continuing Education opportunities and Financial and Career Development. These programs allow trainees to build the level of their skills and competencies in the healthcare industry. This type of integration assists the student to improve the quality of their life so they can become vital contributors to their communities.
Criteria for Admission to Afria Medical Institute: Students who wish to be considered for admission to the Certified Nursing Assistant Program must present credentials in accordance with the following requirements:
1. Be at least 17 years of age.
2. Be a high school graduate, completed the GED, or demonstrate the ability to successfully complete literacy testing.
3. Complete a non-credit registration form, listing Certified Nursing Assistant as the desired course.
4. Submit high school transcript or GED scores.
Students must complete a Criminal Background check, physical and TB screening prior to beginning their clinical practicum.
This aspect of training is based upon a committed enrollment and completion of training in one of these areas:
CNA The Certified Nursing Assistant Program is 104-hour program; you will need to complete a 4-to-6 week courses. Classroom instruction generally includes basic nursing skills, anatomy, physiology, nutrition, and infection control. Students also receive invaluable hands-on experience during clinical activities. Chapter tests, final examination, skills based competency assessment and a clinical practicum.
Students will participate in classes, seminars and workshops on resume preparation, interviewing techniques, job counseling, and job readiness training. These job skills are designed to increase the potential that program participants will be employed in the healthcare field.
All students will be evaluated. Students who refuse to abide by these guidelines will be terminated from Afria Medical Institute.
