At this weekend final round of MotoGP for this season Casey Stoner came in second while Nicky Hayden crashed out. This was Stoners last race on the Ducati. Casey finished fourth overall in points and Hayden finished seventh. Later this week Rossi will get his first ride on the Ducati MotoGP bike.

Ducati has unveiled their line up for 2011. Along with the new Diavel power cruiser they have also introduced the Monster 1100 Evo and the 1198SP. Go to ducati.com for all of the details.

Ducatis newest model, the Diavel is scheduled to be unveiled at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show this November. The Diavel (pronounced Dee-ah-vel) will have the 1198 engine and weigh 456 pounds.

Casey Stoner won his fourth straight Australian GP by over eight seconds this past weekend. Nicky Hayden came in fourth and Rossi finished in third.

In the Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi Casey Stoner won by almost four seconds. Valentino Rossi came in third. In the final round of WSBK at Magny Cours, Carlos Checa finished third in race one and Michel Fabrizio took third in race two. Checa was the highest placing Ducati rider in the final standings, finishing third. Ducati finished second in the manufacturers standings. In the 22 years of WSBK Ducati has won 16 manufacturers championships.
In other WSBK news Noriyuki Haga will be riding an Aprilia RSV4 for next season. Also in WSBK Davide Tardozzi and BMW have split.

At last weekends WSBK round in Imola Ducati finished one through four in the first race and first and second in the second race. Carlos Checa scored a double winning both races, followed by; Lorenzo Lanzi, Noriyuki Haga and Jakub Smrz. In race two Haga finished second.

Casey Stoner won by over five seconds and Nicky Hayden came in third.

Fabio Taglioni was born on September 20th, 1920. He was the head of Ducatis engineering department for almost forty years and designed some of Ducatis most iconic motorcycles. It was Taglioni who designed Ducatis L-twin and also got the Desmo valve train to work in a motorcycle engine. Dr. T passed away on July 28th, 2001.

Rossi has had severe pain in his shoulder after the Misano race and may need surgery after the season is over.

Ducati North American reports a 24% sales increase for the month of August compared to last year. This follows a 7.5% sales increase for the month of July over last year. This comes at a time when sales industry wide are down 13%. New models such as the Multistrada S, 796 Monster and the 848 Evo are helping the increase.

Noriyuki Haga wins WSBK race two at the Nurburgring by over three seconds.

Valentino Rossi and Ducati have signed a two year contract starting with the 2011 season. Rossi is a NINE time World Champion and is this years defending MotoGP Champion. It is believed Nicky Hayden will be announced as Rossis teammate after the Indy round at the end of this month.

Ducati North American announced a 7.5% sales increase for the month of July over last year. Strong demand for the Multistrada and the new 796 Monster along with special financing deals helped with the increase during a time when new motorcycle sales are down for most of the industry. With the 848EVO coming this month this trend should continue.
In other Italian bike news the Castiglioni brothers re-acquired MV Agusta from Harley-Davidson. Massimo Bordi, formerly of Ducati will join Claudio and Giovanni Castiglioni in managing MV Agusta.
