I am a teacher at a small private Christian school in Fairburn, GA. Several weeks ago my wife commented that our house of 18 years leaked energy like a sieve and she wanted something done about it. I began researching contractors in the Greater Atlanta Area that dealt with insulation and weatherization issues and, after a prolonged search, felt Bird Family Insulation would provide the best service for my situation. After emailing them back and forth for a time, Andrew came out to the Newnan, GA area where I live and did a thorough inspection of my home. He and Abbey Bird, my primary contacts, were very professional and courteous and answered all of my inquiries. After spending about two and a half hours searching my attic, crawl space, bathrooms, and just about every other imaginable area, Andrew gave me a proposal the following day for upgrading my homes energy efficiency. In just two trips to my home, the Bird crew came out and fixed every possible leak of energy one can imagine. They were timely, polite, and cleaned as they went. My home was actually cleaner by the time they left than when they first arrived! After foaming my crawl space on Day 1 of their assignment, I could tell an immediate difference in home temperature. After their completion visit this past Wednesday, the house was, I felt, sealed as well as it could be. I lowered my thermostat down lower than it has ever been at night since weve lived here (18 years) and felt, for the first time, no drafts, cold floors, nor discomfort. I have been amazed. Detailed pictures have been shot of the work done and will be emailed to me tomorrow, and a detailed receipt showing potential tax credits was included as well.
I could not recommend a group of people more highly. They did their very best for me, and I believe they would for anyone else as well.

Dear BIRD-Family Insulation,
We have been pleased with the results of the work you did in Decemberto plug air leaks and install insulation in our attic and walls. This took a lot of labor, and your staff was courteous and relatively unobtrusive. It’s been hard to measure energy savings so soon after a bitterly cold first six weeks of the year. However, I am certain that we would’ve spent substantially more on our heating if we lacked your product. As it was our natural gas consumption for the first two bills of this year was at the third lowest level going back six winters to our first one here in 2005. I also monitor the temperature near our attic apex, which is well above the the insulation. This temperature has gotten much colder than I recall from past years, which indicates that our attic insulation is doing the job by trapping much more heat.
We have been astonished at how much outside noise has been dampened by the said work, which is important as we live near a busy road. The results of the energy audit and the pre and post-installation airflow test indicated that our house is now nearly a third more “airtight.” We certainly have noticed how much less drafty it has been and thus more comfortable. I am especially pleased that our attic stairway and fan opening have good seals now. Although we have not regarded ourselves as having a bug problem, I must say I’ve seen only a few dead ones and think the bug-fighting properties of the insulation will really help us come summer.
I’ve passed your contact information on the several neighbors and hope that they will take advantage of the current incentives to help their homes. We received $1,000.00 in GA Power rebates, and I look forward to the savings we think we will realize on our air conditioning costs.
