Bisphosphonate drugs used to treat osteoporosis and Pagets Disease
Any patients taking Fosamax or similar drugs to treat osteoporosis or Pagets disease please let Dr Walker or his staff know at your next visit. It is extremely important to have regular dental checkups while on this medication to monitor any jaw problems that can rarely occur while taking these type medications. Also, let your dentist or healthcare provider know before undergoing any dental surgery or invasive procedure while on this medication.

Haiti Relief Fund
Walker Dental Group is proud to be a part of the team to send much needed water to the Haiti Earthquake victims. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who were affected by this catastrophic tradegy in Haiti. Our office participated in the following supply request
To all of you who helped us reach our goal of 100,000 bottles of water.Tradebank clients raised approximately $26,500.00 in 25 hours. That is something that should make you proud of not only your own efforts but also proud to be involved in such a great organization as Tradebank.
We have purchased 66 pallets. Thats over 180,000 bottles of water! The water is currently in Kansas City ready to move to Miami where it will be put on board a ship to Haiti early next week. The water will be traveling with over 40,000 pounds of rice and enough canvas, nylon and nylon rope to build several small tent villages.

Danielle Panabaker recently visited our office while shooting a movie in Macon called "The Crazies" which is due to be released in Feb 2010. Danielle plays the character of Becca in the movie. Dr. Walker was able to be on the set during the filming of the movie and learned a great deal about the movie making process.

October 30, 2007 We are now offically a latex free office, due to the fact that many people have latex allergies our office has decided to no longer use any latex products. We will now use nitrile products that are hypoallergic. If you have any questions please feel free to ask Dr. Walker or the staff for any allergy concerns.

April 30, 2007 Please call Dr Walker's office to verify that you may no longer need premedication for dental procedures. This is for patients that had been previously diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse and other heart valve conditons. This also applies to some but not all prosthetic joint replacements as well.

Walker Dental Group would like to welcome our newest addition to our staff Jill Clay. Jill lives in Monticello, Georgia with her husband and son Hunter. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, shopping and spending time with her family. Jill is the patient care coordinator and the front office receptionist and she comes highly recommended to us. Chicago Mid Winter Dental Meeting
Dr. Walker attended the Chicago Mid Winter Dental meeting during the end of February. He and his wife Dana met up with Dr. Jeff Solaman and his wife Michelle.

Congratulations to Justin Freeman
Congratulations to Justin Freeman a long time patient at Walker Dental Group for signing with the Cincinnatti Reds. Justin will report to Sarasota Florida in February 2009, then will play in Dayton Ohio for the Reds. We wish him a stellar career in professional baseball!

Compassionate Care Clinic
On July 30th several of the staff went to a new clinic in Milledgeville Georgia that serves medical and dental needs for people who have fallen on hard times. We spent the entire day doing dentistry on people who were in desperate need for dental work. Many of these people had not seen a dentist in years. We saw approximately 30 patients and performed everything from deep cleanings to fillings to extractions. This clinic is funded by the Georgia Department of Community Health Volunteer Provider Program and is called the Commpassionate Care Clinic. The clinic is a faith based clinic for those in need. We provide all dental care for the Compassionate Care Clinic along with other local dentists who volunteer their time to help those in need. Please Visit the Compassionate Care Clinic site

Atlanta Motor Speedway
Dr. Walker and Dr. Swords raced against each other recently at the Atlanta Motor Speedway travelling at speeds over 140 mph.
