Welcome to Central Georgia Equine Services, Inc., where horses come first.
Central Georgia Equine Services is an exclusively equine practice located in Peach County about 100 miles south of Atlanta. The practice was founded in 1988 by Dr. Charlene Cook with the idea that there had to be a better way to care for horses and their owners. From humble beginnings the business grew and the CGES staff has been providing quality care to the equine population of Central Georgia for over 23 years.
Conveniently located in the Central Georgia area with easy access to Interstate 75 we offer a large range of services and facilities to accommodate our patients from the smallest miniature to largest draft. Our clinic facility allows us to hospitalize sick patients in need of intensive care. The foaling barn is equipped with video cameras and an elaborate electronic monitoring system so that we know the moment a mare is going into labor. Modern laboratory equipment allows us to perform complete blood counts, chemistry analysis, urinalysis and IgG testing with results available in minutes not days. Equipped with our fully stocked ambulatory vehicles our veterinarians also provide on the farm care to the Central Georgia region.
Our policy is simple; to care for your horse as if it were our horse. While our patients range from national champions to beloved family pets we provide the same compassionate care to all. Staff members at CGES are horse owners and enthusiasts with a wide ranging field of interests; Show horses of many breeds, shapes and sizes, Dressage, Hunter-Jumpers, Barrel Racing, Reining, Trail Riding, Broodmares and pet horses are all areas in which staff members have been actively involved over the years.
