Governor’s House, a 12-acre estate located in Historic Kingston, Georgia, specializes in weddings and catered events that can be held inside the spacious Banquet Hall (2,200 sq. ft.) or outside in the expansive gardens.
The original house dates back to 1933 and displays the original hardwood floors. The walls and ceilings of the upstairs area are of pine and were discovered during the restoration. The antique-filled Bridal Suite occupies the entire upstairs floor.

In the living room, you can pause and rest on an early 1800s sofa that once belonged to President John Tyler, or sit at a dining table handmade from the finest South American mahogany. Guests are fascinated by the collection of original autographs, celebrity photos, and mementos that line the walls.
Everyone of all ages enjoy browsing over these unique treasures.
The gardens are magnificent, featuring a Koi Pond with a rock waterfall. Guests are free to stroll along the garden paths and enjoy a lemonade while taking in the colorful and fragrant flora and fauna.

Governor’s House can make your dream wedding come true. Weddings from 2 to 250 can be hosted with the expertise and personal attention of our staff. Rehearsal dinners, weddings, and receptions are accommodated in your choice of picturesque indoor or outdoor settings.
Our 12-acre estate is ideal for gracious, intimate weddings. Whether at the Rosa Chapel by the Koi Pond or in the elegant Ballroom, Governor’s House provides a romantic atmosphere for your wedding.
Garden Weddings are a specialty at Governor’s House. The Formal Ceremony Gardens with the quaint Rosa Chapel beside the Koi Pond and waterfall provide a romantic background. The Chapel displays beautiful, custom-designed stained-glass windows. The Ceremony Gardens were fashioned after wedding gardens on the Island of Maui in Hawaii.
In the spring, summer, and fall, hundreds of perennials and annuals put on a spectacular show. To ease concerns of inclement weather, we automatically reserve the Ballroom as an indoor backup.
Wedding Cakes and Groom’s Cakes are designed and constructed in the kitchen at Governor’s House. Each is unique and reflects the bride and groom’s personal taste. Anything from the traditional white cake to cheesecake to carrot or chocolate can be prepared especially for you.
