Nov. 7 is WORLD HUNGER SUNDAY & FOOD DRIVE @ New Hope
Friday, November 5, 2010 at 3:07PM
Did you know that 16.7 MILLION CHILDREN (25% of all children living in the U.S.) live in “food insecure” homes. (Food insecure families may be eating today, but aren’t sure what they’ll eat tomorrow.) Note: These statistics are from 2008, so imagine what they are for 2010!
Help us fight this kind of HUNGER this Sunday!
Give to our annual food drive this week to stock the shelves of our Community Action Center of Dunwoody/Sandy Springs
Don't know what to give?
About the Community Action Center:
Our Community Action Center Food Pantry provides food to an average of 60 individuals and families EACH DAY (that’s about 1,200 visits per month)!
CAC distributes non-perishable canned and packaged goods as well as perishables like meat and produce when available. Through the “Second Helpings” program, our CAC also distributes prepared food donated by area restaurants, as well as maintaining a special section within the pantry for items that can be easily used by those who do not have access to cooking facilities.
