Gwinnett Ballet Theatre (GBT) was founded over thirty years ago. Since then, GBT has evolved, under the Artistic Direction of Lisa Sheppard Robson, into one of the finest pre-professional companies and non-profit dance schools in the region, sending an impressive number of young artists to professional companies and dance careers around the world.
Located in Snellville, Georgia, GBT's influence can be experienced locally through performances at the Gwinnett Performing Arts Center such as our annual production of "The Nutcracker" and our Spring Concert and recitals. GBT is an Honor Company of the Southeastern Regional Ballet Association and participates in its annual festival.
GBT also reaches out to its community by offering classes, performance opportunities, and special ticketing incentives to underserved groups of children and young adults. Through its Scholarship Program and adoption of Shiloh Elementary School, hundreds of youth are introduced to the arts.
The GBT Board of Directors and the GBT Guild ensure a strong business framework and continuing support, enabling the professional teaching staff to offer the highest quality of instruction and the individual nurturing of each child.
Gwinnett Ballet Theatre has been honored to receive a major grant from the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta as a part of their Fall 2010 granting cycle.
