Visitors to the Store are greeted with the enticing aroma of Rum Runners specialty baking. The smell of the cakes and other delicacies literally leads you by the nose to the bustling bakery.
Savannah Rum Runners opened its doors in 1997. The original recipes were born from those of Ann Rogers old Charleston family.
Her recipes were handed down from grandmothers and great-grandmothers. A bite of the rich, moist traditional Savannah Rum Cake takes you back on a tasty visit to the Old South.
The Savannah Rum Cake has been, from the start, the house specialty. Fresh, chopped pecans float in a buttery glaze drizzled over the freshly baked, sinfully rich cake, generously flavored with quality rum. Other magical cakes offered include Kahlua Cake, Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake, Sour Cream Pound Cake with Key lime icing, Georgia Peach cake and many more.
Long time bakers Calvin Curry and Kari Wilcox use only the finest, freshest ingredients in their lovingly prepared baked goods. Real butter, fresh eggs and fine spirits all combine to make Savannah Rum Runners specialties. The bakers are constantly creating new recipes, along with the tried and true originals.
Savannah Rum Runners is expanding its repertoire with dessert and coffee catering for special functions, a corporate gift program and much more. But dont worry, the core of the business will remain the same. Delivery is available and the Rum Runners staff will ship your delicious gifts anywhere. Everything can be ordered by phone, fax and now the INTERNET. Everything is baked to order at Savannah Rum Runners. The staff bakes under rabbinical supervision two or three times a day ensuring that everything in the bakery case is as fresh as possible. If youre wanting something special, you can order it and it will be ready later that day or early the next day.
Also available at Savannah Rum Runners are assorted cookies (including Old Charleston Benne Seed, mini rum-cakes, brownies, pecan puffs and Florentine Lace).
