There is a recall on H1N1 vaccine for a slight loss of potency only. Safety has not been altered. Only 4 lot numbers of the pre-filled syringes of the dose for ages 6 months to 3 years. We do not have, and have not had, any of the lot numbers recalled. The recall was for decreased potency only. Vaccine manufacturers routinely test vials after production and some shelf life and discovered that some of the pre-filled syringe doses had lost potency and are slightly less potent than the standards they expect. This is totally unexpected because a flu vaccine has never lost potency before. We will continue to vaccinate as before.
