Each October the Sorghum Festival provides an opportunity to taste locally made sorghum syrup and engage in biscuit eating contests, pole climbing contests and several other unique and fun festivities. The North Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds hold concerts, many by world known artists, is host to the Georgia Moutnain Fair, arts and crafts festivals and also provides camping, boating and fishing areas. Meeks Park, located in Blairsville, offers miles of walking trails, picnic areas, playground, softball fields, swimming pool and is the host of The Scottish Highlands Festival and many other local events.
