Washington, D.C. Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) today again called on Secretary of Veterans Affairs Erik Shinseki to approve the construction of a Department of Veterans Affairs Community Based Outpatient Clinic in the Statesboro area. He previously sent a letter to Secretary Shinseki last month and has been in communication with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) regarding this matter for the last few years. Washington, D.C. Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) testified today in front of the House of Representatives Armed Services Committee in support of H.R. 4041, his bill to train more Federal Recovery Coordinators as recommended by the Dole/Shalala Commission.

BARROW VOTES TO CREATE JOBS IN ENERGY INDUSTRY, LOWER ENERGY BILLS IN RURAL COMMUNITIES
Washington, D.C. Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) voted for legislation last week that will spur job creation in the American clean energy industry and strengthen rural economies that have been hit hardest by the economic downturn. The Rural Energy Savings Act, or "Rural Star," will provide loans to American families and farmers to improve their energy efficiency and lower their utility bills. It will create American manufacturing and installation jobs in the process.

The House of Representatives today passed legislation introduced by Congressman John Barrow (GA-12) that will support the Veterans Curation Project, part of which is located in the 12th District of Georgia in Augusta. Barrow's bill, H.R. 5282, had the support of the CSRA Wounded Warrior Care Project and passed by voice vote.
