The U.S. Treasury Department has announced that December 31, 2010 will be the last day for financial institutions to accept Treasury Tax & Loan (TT&L) coupons under an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) proposed rule change.

Beginning January 1, 2011, all payments should be made directly to the U.S. Treasury Department through their Electronic Federal Tax Payment System (EFTPS).
