Purpose of this site: The site was designed to provide health and cardiac-specific information to our patients who are undergoing evaluation and treatment for a heart-related complaint. All contents are developed by cardiologists to ensure accuracy. The objective of this site is to educate and NOT to advertise or promote specific medications, devices or procedures. The information provided on this web site is meant to supplement and NOT to replace those obtained from your personal cardiologist or physician.

Services Provided in our Office:
Our Cardiology team provides comprehensive care to patients with cardiac conditions. They have specialized training and skills in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, heart attacks, heart muscle diseases, cardiac valve problems, heart rhythm disturbances. This expertise is used in making decisions about treatment and procedures such as individualized medical therapy, preventive plans, cardiac catheterization, balloon angioplasty, placement of bare metal and drug coated stents, atherectomy, intra-coronary ultrasound, heart surgery, RF ablations, and the placement of pacemakers and implantable cardiac defibrillators. Procedures performed in our offices include detailed History and Physical Examination, Electrocardiography, personalized evaluation and management of simple and complex cardiovascular diseases, Trans thoracic 2D and 3D echocardiography and Doppler studies, Holter monitoring, Event monitor recording, Regular stress testing, Pharmaceutical stress testing, Isotope stress testing, Stress Echocardiography, Dobutamine Stress Echocardiography, Permanent pacemaker monitoring, Preventive Cardiac care, and more.
Services Provided by our Cardiac Team at the Adjoining University Hospital:
Transesophageal (TEE) echocardiography, Tilt Table Testing, Cardioversion, Pacemaker Insertion and Replacement, Cardiac catheterization, Percutaneous coronary interventions (PTCA, rotational atherectomy, regular stenting, drug eluting stenting, brachytherapy, etc), Preventive Cardiac care, management of in-patients with heart attacks, congestive heart failure, heart rhythm problems and critical cardiovascular diseases, and those undergoing surgery for coronary, valvular and congenital heart diseases. University Hospital developed the area’s first cardiac catheterization lab in 1974, performed the region’s first angioplasty in 1980, and in early 2003 became the first hospital in Georgia to use the drug-eluting stent. Today, University continue a long tradition of “firsts.” Known throughout the region for its open-heart surgery program, more cardiac catheterization procedures and open-heart surgeries are performed at University than all other area hospitals combined.
Office Hours and Policies
Our Our office hours are from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. However, a cardiologist is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays. If you are an established patient and need to reach a cardiologist for an urgent matter, when the office is closed, call (706) 774-9000 and our answering service will contact the physician on call.
