Under the prayerful guidance and omophorion of His Beatitude, Jonah, Archbishop of Washington, Metropolitan of All America and Canada, Locum Tenens of the Diocese of the South, St Mary of Egypt Orthodox Church has been growing and bearing witness to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ since 1976. Currently pastored by Fr. Peter Smith and Fr. Cyprian DuRant, we held our initial services and gatherings in the apartment of Fr John and Brigid Townsend, then in the "upper room" of a local bank. In 1979, on our 5+ acres of wooded land, we began construction of the delightful and warm redwood temple which we have worshipped in since its dedication in 1980 by Archbishop Dmitri.

St Mary's Church is located in Norcross, Georgia, about 15 miles northeast of the center of the city of Atlanta.
From I-85 (northbound from Atlanta or from I-285 loop)
Exit at #102 (Beaver Ruin Rd) and turn right (east). Pass through three intersections with traffic lights and after the third light, proceed past the small lake on the right. After passing the lake, pass Arcadia Dr and John Dr on the right and notice four yellow and black directional arrows in a row also on the right. Our driveway is between the third and fourth arrows on the right. The temple is the first building on the right as you enter the property. Our temple resembles a Swiss chalet in redwood with a distinctive front porch.
