What Is Laser Vision Correction?
LASIK is the number one choice of refractive surgeons and patients worldwide to reduce or eliminate dependence on glasses and contact lenses. The first LASIK procedure was performed more than 17 years ago, and more than 14 million procedures have been performed in the United States alone. LASIK treats low to high amounts of nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
Am I A Candidate?
It's everybody's first question. Sadly, many have been misinformed about the answer. The truth is the majority of people currently wearing glasses or contacts are great candidates for one of the procedures we offer. Whether you are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism, the likelihood is incredibly high that you are a candidate for laser vision correction.
Can I Afford This?
The saying "you get what you pay for" is just as true of LASIK surgery as it is about almost everything else. With laser eye centers advertising LASIK at prices ranging from under $500 per eye to over $2500 per eye, one often wonders what causes such a wide difference. Rather than simply comparing cost, it is important to compare surgeon expertise, eye prescription, quality of equipment, and the use of new technology such as Wavefront and IntraLase.
