We are neighbors of Mike Haas, dba Newnan Home Improvements. We knew he had been doing business in Coweta County for 30+ years AND he did some updating of a home next door to us (and got a tour to see the results) so we decided to get a quote from him for a front railing and to replace the back deck railing last November 2018. We gave him 1/2 down and a week later we gave him 1/2 down to do a dry deck ceiling. In all, $3,700.00. For months, he put us off because of the rainy weather. Then in the Spring 2019, he put us off saying he had health issues. Finally, on Mother's Day 2019, (6 months later) he came by our house in the afternoon and we told him that because of his health issues, we wanted to take this project off his plate, get our money back and use someone else. He said he understood and would give us the money back by the end of the week. He texted later in the day that he needed a couple weeks. Nothing happened for a couple months so we decided to take him to magistrate court. Our court date was September 4, 2019. He did not show up so the judge ruled in our favor. We put a lien on his in hopes of SOMEDAY getting our money back. TODAY, September 18, 2019, I decided to check the public records to see if he has any other liens on his property. What I discovered is that his house is in his wife's name. This tells me that he knows EXACTLY what he is doing to beat the system. Maybe this will help someone else NOT be out their hard earned money.
