Voted Best Pest Control
Three years in a row!By the Readers of The Dahlonega Nugget
In the early 1800s at heart of three sister’s mountain, a copper mine shaft produced over
$31,000 annually to north Georgia’s economy. Gold was discovered in 1828. This
moment in time put Dahlonega on the map and made the city a household name. But
copper was still the most abundant, and useful mineral ever mined out of Dahlonega.
Just a few miles from this mine shaft is a service company that mimics its namesake.
Although not as famous as the big boys, Coppermines Pest Control is certainly becoming
north Georgia’s premier service company of choice. Much of this is due to the employees
and their vision and commitment to excellence in prompt professional service.
Our Vision and Mission Statement
We will build a sound and stable company that can afford to employ the brightest people
in our industry. We will set the standard and become the service company of choice in
North Georgia. We will encourage and require our employees to improve their skills, their

client’s expectations. We will strive to use the most innovative, economical and
environmentally sound methods to meet our customer’s concerns. We will earn our

Rule. Our employees will exemplify honesty and integrity in all that they do.
The Latest News: On September 29th 2010, Coppermines Pest Control was named
as the "Best Pest Control Company by the readers of the Dahlonega Nugget.
For the third consecutive year, one company has continually excelled at keeping your
home pest free. While only serving under their current name for only five and half years,
The former company, "Cooper Pest Control" has served the Lumpkin County area for
the past 15 years. The ten employees of Coppermines Pest Control have worked even
harder this year as the company has expanded their fire ant, mosquito and bed bug
services. We opened up a home cleaning division and home maintenance division to
include such services as gutter cleaning and pressure washing. And soon we hope to
expand into the wildlife pest control arena. The best thing about doing business in
Dahlonega is it's people. "I have found the found the mysterious and untapped vein of
gold that has forever escaped the hands of miners. It is not found in some long forgotten
mine shaft or in the cleft of the mountain rocks. The 'vein of gold' is found in the heart of
the people of Lumpkin County." Len G. Land, CEO Coppermines Pest Control Inc.
Bed Bugs are on the rise:Occasionally, there are public health concerns that draw attention from the media. You
may have heard recently that bed bug populations are on the rise. Bed bugs, which had
been eradicated for over 40 years have now reached epidemic levels again. The spread
of this pest is due, in part to international and hotel travel. However, another element
exaggerating the problem is the changes in our own industry. Products such as DDT,
Vapona and other hydro-fluorocarbons that were so effective during the 50’s and 60’s
have long since been replaced with more “environmentally friendly” products. Most of
these newer products are not as effective against the control of bed bugs. In addition,
our own industry training, green peace initiatives and the practice of integrated pest
management have created the perfect environment for bed bug infestations. Special care
and concern should be taken when traveling and staying in hotels. But also be aware
that this problem is being spread by the purchase of used furniture, in particular, beds
As stated, this is a problem that has just begun to surface in the past two years and was
not something that could have been imagined five years ago. Most current pest control
services do not guarantee against bed bugs. In fact, there are no effective preventative
treatments available to protect against bed bugs at this time. The best defense is a
thorough inspection. We do not want to cause undue alarm. When a person has a bed
bug infestation, they usually are well aware of the situation. Coppermines Pest Control
will provide you an inspection and estimate for the control of bed bugs if you suspect a
problem. As you can imagine, the treatment of bedbugs is very intense and expensive.
Even inspecting for the pest can be very involved. Coppermines offers inspections and
estimates to control bed bugs. Feel free to give us a call for an evaluation of your home.
A new acquisition: Coppermines
Pest Control is excited to announce
its 4th acquisition. On October the
5th 2010, Coppermines Pest Control
purchased North Georgia Wildlife
Pest Control. The addition of this
company will bring our company into
the Wildlife arena and should
generate the company an additional
$50,000.00 in revenue. Ronnie Davis,
former owner of North Georgia
wildlife will remain on board with our
company as an advisor. We look
forward to the challenges that lie
ahead of us as we enter into a new
field of service. Squirrels, raccoons,
opossums, bats, snakes and bears
are part of living in the north Georgia
mountains. But when they enter our
homes and yards then they become
a danger to our way of life and need
to be controlled.
