one of the most characteristic elements of lebanese
cuisine is the offering of an unlimited array of small hot
and cold appetizers ... we call them mezza

since february 20th 2001, fans of lebanese cuisine in atlanta have had a new place to enjoy it. mezza, lebanese for tapas/appetizers, serves a wide variety of authentic lebanese specialties in appetizer size portions. a variety of more than 60 menu items ranging from the traditional dishes, such as hummus, baba ghannouge, falafel and tabbouleh, prepared by executive chef and co-owner liza bitar, to new variations and innovations by co-owners jason and iman bitar. the mother and son team have again joint forces opening their second restaurant, their first being the cedar tree at emory village. in an effort to bring the atlanta restaurant-going community a new, authentic and exiting way of serving lebanese food, a traditional way in which all menu items are served in small portion allowing patrons to sample and share a large variety of dishes.

of course to complete the meal a variety of tasty desserts such as baklawa, rice pudding, halawa bi jibin, made form sweet cheese and semolina. home made ice creams of vanilla with caramelized almonds and moca with caramelized hazelnuts an out of this world experience. topping it all with real lebanese coffee better known in the west as turkish coffee. espresso, cappuccino and fresh brewed coffee are also served.

in addition to the wines and beers, mezza also serves traditional non-alcoholic drinks, such as jallab, a drink made from raisin and topped with pine nuts, rose water and a drink made form mallberries, traditionally known as toot.
